MESSAGE FROM THE GENERAL SECRETARY OF JUAAB

The Japanese Universities Alumni Association in Bangladesh (JUAAB) since its inception in September 2000, has been actively working to realize its objective of creating an atmosphere of friendship, co-operation & mutual understanding among its member as well as fostering further the bonds of friendship between Bangladesh & Japan. Within this few years the Association promotes the friendship, co-operation & mutual understanding among the alumni & also promotes exchange of academic, technological & cultural activities between Bangladesh & Japan. Every year on the occasion of the international mother language day, JUAAB organized Bangali speech contests for Japanese and as well as other foreign nationals living in Bangladesh. This program received wide media coverage. Now JUAAB has successfully started to organize courses in Japanese language & orientation of life & culture in Japan to help student & professionals who are interested to study & do business in Japan. Every day from JUAAB office students counseling is going on for those who are interested to study in Japan. The number of students seeking counseling increased by 4 times than last year. Every year JUAAB member participated in the Reunion of the former students (who studied in Japan) in Japan which was organized by the Ministry of foreign affairs, Government of Japan. Program included presentation of the activities of the alumni association of varies countries, JUAAB hosted different seminars & jointly conducted the Japanese language proficiency test with the Embassy of Japan. JUAAB is now an institution that brings together the Bangladeshi nationals who obtained their higher studies in Japan. In the near future JUAAB members will play a leading role for the development of Bangladesh & to continue to promote mutual understanding & exchange between Japan & Bangladesh, in various fields.

I sincerely hope this organization will scale many pinnacles of success in the years ahead. I wholeheartedly thank the Embassy of Japan for their cooperation and financial assistant.
